Bear Creek Lake Park
This city park was designed in four phases. The project began with an Entry Station to monitor vehicles accessing the park and to collect fees. Next came a 3,000 sf Information Center for the park and the natural history of the City of Lakewood. The entry lobby contains a nature display depicting the native wildlife. Adjacent to the lobby are offices for the Department of Parks and park rangers, a weather station, meeting rooms, lounge, and toilet facilities.
The last two phases were focused on site upgrades. A self-contained swim beach Concession Building with toilet facilities was added. The concession area has a small food prep space, a life guard room, and a first aid room.
The Boat Marina contains facilities for distribution and storage of rental equipment and snack food, park ranger offices, and toilet facilities accessible to the public at all times. Site improvements include a bike path extension and beach expansion from the swim beach, picnic shelters, child play areas, parking for 100 automobiles and boat trailers, and a small boat harbor.
