Empire Electric Association, Inc., a member-owned, nonprofit, rural electric cooperative, relocated to a new Operations Center on a beautiful, rural site three miles north of Cortez.

The new campus consists of four separate building structures on approximately twenty acres of developed area. The buildings were designed and sited to take in the magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.

Engineering & Operations (9,300 sf): Includes staff offices, conference rooms, a training room to accommodate 45 people, restrooms, showers for field employees, a dispatch center, an archive room, and several breakout spaces.

Material Warehouse (24,800 sf): This pre-engineered metal building includes offices, meter proces­sing, garage space for 18 fleet trucks, and material storage.

Fleet Maintenance Facility (14,300 sf): This pre-engineered metal building is used for servicing company vehicles. The four-bay shop includes a 12-ton bridge crane, vehicle hoists, floor drain­age with sand/oil separation, interior and exterior wash bays, welding & equipment repair, central air compres­sion, and used oil storage.

Garage (4,800 sf): Vehicle storage for 12 Class C trucks and smaller vehicles and equipment.
