Based on the ground plan of a 900-year old Anasazi Indian pueblo, this custom home reflects the colors, forms and textures of the desert plateau.

Sandstone similar to the original Chacoan masonry was laid by a crew of nine Navajos who specialize in the restoration of ancient ruins.  Landscaped pools and planters step down to two south facing courtyards, enclosed by a shading pergola.

The interior rooms cluster around a central court that acts as a heat sink. The design meets several unique requirements − it respects ancient forms and traditions, it creates an exhibition space for a significant collection of photographic work, and it conserves energy.
