Ute Water Conservancy District is a public utility that provides drinking water for the Grand Valley. With close to 20 acres available, we sited the new headquarters to utilize only 8 acres, leaving the remaining 12 acres available for future expansion. The campus consists of three individual buildings totaling 34,900 sf.
The Administrative Offices building is divided into public and private spaces. The public areas include customer service counters, a drive-up window to expedite payments, and a community meeting room. The private areas ‒ controlled by key-card access ‒ include staff offices, a 2-hour fire-rated archive room, conference rooms, a break room, and several breakout spaces.
The Transportation & Distribution Warehouse is divided into offices, break room, showers for field employees, a meeting room, and storage.
The Maintenance Shop services company vehicles. This five-bay building includes vehicle hoists, tire and oil changing equipment, floor drainage with sand/oil separation, welding curtains, central air compression, and used oil storage.
The site was designed to accommodate high traffic volume and large vehicles, and it includes a fueling station. Sustainable building features include metered faucets, daylight controls, high-performance glazing, waterless urinals, and dual flush toilets. An efficient design and a great bidding climate during the recession helped deliver this project 30% under budget.
