Orchard Mesa Fire Station #4

Grand Junction, Colorado

building Area

8,900 sf

Owner

City of Grand Junction

This new station updates the prototype design for fire stations in the City of Grand Junction.

This design was based on the plan for the Redlands Fire Station #5 which has 3-bays, three-shifts, sleeping for six people, and is open 24-hours. Modifications were made to increase functionality, efficiency, and comfort.

Materials were all durable and easy to maintain, and adequate acoustical separation was built into the living area, bunk rooms, apparatus bays, and physical fitness room. The building exterior includes concrete masonry and stucco to blend with the residential neighborhood, the adjacent church and elementary school.
